http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1658776,00.asp?kc=ETRSS02129TX1K0000532

"Mass storage today is cheap and plentiful. Despite this seeming cornucopia of buckets for your bits, storage technology is still evolving. We'll take a look at some of the key areas of technical evolution in the arena of personal storage. Here, we'll be focusing on disk-based media, both optical and hard disk, with an eye on near-term buying decisions."

ExtremeTech has a nice article on all the different mass storage devices on the market from Serial ATA and Optical Storage to NAS and Firewire/USB. If you are running low on disk space or are unsure of what you need to backup your data, check this in-depth article out.

Mmmmm, storage. Yummy. Imagine my surprise when I tried to digitize my Hawaii vacation videos (about 4 hours), and found they took up about 120GB on my machine 8O

I have a brand new SATA drive that's super speedy and does wonders for improving video editing performance. With three drives in my system now I can have the app loading from one drive, a second for reading, and a third for writing. It makes a huge difference!

The best part? The drive cost me $110 for 200GB!
