Default MSNBC: "Why I Love Satellite Radio"

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7119958/

"My husband and I added satellite radios to our cars just a few months ago, and like people who finally discover cable TV after years of only having network channels, we're never going back. (What's that the Buggles said, in an oddly prescient song? "We can't rewind, we've gone too far.") Satellite radio may not kill the radio star, and it may not reach cable TV's popularity for years to come, but I believe it's the future."

The author seems pretty happy with satellite radio. We just don't drive enough to make it worth the investment. My wife and I have about a 15 minute commute and our two cars (an '02 and an '03) have a combined total of about 38,000 miles.

I received a Delphi Roady2 for christmas. I cant say that I really wanted it....but I've really come to enjoy it.

I listen to Opie & Anthony whenever I'm in the car. I like the Kids stations (Disney/XMKids) for my son.

I really enjoy the Comedy Channels and the Old Time Radio Stations as well.

CNN, Discovery, Fox News...all nice to have in the car.

Many of the music stations are really good and commercial free (except for XM commercials....which I really dont understand since I must already own one if I can hear the commercial! sheeesh!)

I even throw on some techno, trance, etc, when I just want to zone out and think of nothing!

I also received a docking base and antenna to use the system indoors...but that's not really necessary since I'll have the Internet package as part of the basic service starting next month.

I do miss local news....even though it's just a click away on my car radio, I feel like I shouldn't be switching over...but you need to.

Could Satellite ever replace local stations as well? I dont think that's possible.

I listen primarily in my home, or on my walks (I have a Tao XM2Go), and subscribed originally solely for The Bob Edwards Show on XMPR. Of course, I've learned to love the other music and talk channels, but I still won't miss the Edwards Show.
