Create Your Own Hand-Written Font
"Fontifier lets you use your own handwriting for the text you write on your computer. It turns a scanned sample of your handwriting into a handwriting font that you can use in your word processor or graphics program, just like regular fonts such as Helvetica." Always wanted your own font so that when people complain about you not hand-writing them letters you can say "No! That IS my writing!"? Sure you do. ;-)

Free? eh...no, it's not free. They charge $9 for it. So now after taking the time to print it out, scan it in and upload it, they're gonna charge for it. No way I'm gonna spend $9 on that. :|

Wow, this is pretty cool. Years ago Macromedia offered a tool for custom font design called Fontographer, which is still available but hasn't been updated in YEARS. This looks like a handy little tool.

It would be curious to see what your handwriting looks like Jason! Are there any free tools that allow me to create my own handwritten font?

Ah nuts...I was sure this was free when I first saw it! Updated my post. $9 is pretty cheap though if you want to look at your writing. ;-)

My handwriting is, well, sloppy at best - and it's getting worse over time. I hardly use a pen anymore except to sign a credit card bill. ;-)
I looked for some free options, but I couldn't find one.

You can look at a preview of the font for free, but in order to get the font file you have to pay. Mine didn't turn out great, and I prolly wouldn't have used it for much, so I'm gonna do without it.

Ok, that's just creepy. I don't know what I'd ever use it for, so I'm not spending $9, but the preview string looked just like my crappy printing. It's like I wrote on my monitor in a sleepy stupor or something.
Creepy.
