Last summer, my in-laws celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. As part of the party that my wife and her siblings threw, we set up some tables of memorabilia: her wedding dress, a saddle from when they ran a steer ranch, the traffic light he was given when he retired from his job as a traffic engineer.

On the sly, we also collected as many photographs as we could. I scanned them in and put together a DVD using Vegas: zooming and panning the photos over a soundtrack of love songs from the early 50s. We had this running in a loop on a TV at the memorabilia table, as well.

So what does this have to do with MyPublisher? I used the same photos to produce a MyPublisher book. I think it was about 30 pages in length. At the time, they only printed on one side of the page. I was extremely impressed with the end result. A beautiful hard-cover cloth binding and thick glossy pages made for an amazing gift.

Turn around was great, too. I ordered on a Monday and had the book by Thursday, I think. It's well worth it.

I'm on a project now to put together MyPublisher books for the first 5 years of my kid's lives.

I was wondering if anyone has tried the new offering of "Paper Back" books. It is 20 pages, up to 80 photos and goes for $9.95.

I have had a couple of the coffee table books done and happy with the quality.

Great product, great service. I haven't made a pocketbook yet, but the table book makes a wonderful gift. They also have a great plugin for PowerPoint instead of using their book creation software, which I found to be slow and frustrating to use at times. Maybe I am just more comfortable with PowerPoint? Very professional looking books, now all you have to do is take the picture :wink:

One other note although it is similar to the Mac iPhoto it is a different company. If my memory is correct My Publisher started roughly a 6 months to a year after iPhoto. I have, however, been wrong before (at least that's what my wife tells me :roll: )

I ordered a Paper Back book with 29 pages and 31 photos. The total was about $15 plus international shipping. I will hopefully get the book next week and be able to report back on the quality.

I'm planning on ordering the large-format coffee table book for a family project, but I'm realizing that 80 pictures on 10 pages isn't very realistic in terms of size. I have a feeling this is going to end up being a $99 book by the time I'm through. 8O

That was about the cost with international shipping for my coffee table format books. I have had a number of comments about how nice the photos are, but $100 is reserved only for thoses special moments.
