Panasonic Reaffirms Faith in Blu-ray
"Panasonic's upcoming disc player will play Blu-ray discs exclusively, a decision that follows recent defections from the Blu-ray camp by Hewlett-Packard and LG Electronics. Executives at Matsu****a's Panasonic on Tuesday voiced support for Blu-ray, one of two competing technologies battling to become the next standard for DVDs. The nod to Blu-ray comes after LG and Hewlett-Packard decided to release products that will embrace both Blu-ray and rival HD DVD formats. "So... How is HP and LG 'defecting' by deciding to offer devices that support both formats? I can't blame them for hedging their bets. It will probably be a while until there's any clear victor here, and in the meantime HP and LG want your money any way they can get it. Is it me, or does the Blu-ray camp sound more and more whiney every day?
