Default Nikon D200: Setting Up Auto ISO

You'd think that the "AUTO" setting would be in the ISO settings someplace, say below the 100 setting, but it's not. You have to go:

MENU button > CUSTOM SETTING MENU > METERING/EXPOSURE > ISO AUTO > ON

You can also set the maximum ISO in case you don't want it to go above 1000 because of sensor noise, etc. I've found that leaving it at 1600 max has turned out quite well. When you hold the trigger down halfway you get a preview of the ISO value that the camera has selected, so you can override if you wish.
