Default "Hands Free" Skype Speakerphone

http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/news_9494.html

"Skype is the VoIP revolution of these past years. It works really really well on PC, Mac, Linux and PocketPC! It's a normal evolution to see devices appear that are designed to use with the software, and Datago's VC-1 PLUS is one of them. The device is available through Synnex in Japan and connects to your PC's USB and Mic-in ports, and it allows you to use Skype without a headset and even as a "conference-call" tool. The package will cost less than 80 EUR (about $100)."

Pretty cool actually. I'm not a user of Skype, but it seems to have quite the following. If you are looking at not having to use a headset with your calls, this might just be the ticket.

So it is a USB microphone for $100? You can use any PC microphone and speakers with Skype as opposed to a headset. I'm betting it does some other stuff, but I can't read the source product page.

I think its more of an all in one solution probably aimed at putting in the center of a table rather than have a laptop or cpu on the desk.

Is that how you use it? I find it is difficult to get the feedback under control with a mic that can pick up the incoming sound. Makes a headset of some sort almost essential.
