"Remember way back in January when DirecTV announced a new home media distribution system centered around a device they called the DirecTV Home Media Center? (Watch out for flying Microsoft lawsuits.) Well, they quoted 2006 for expected release, and being that 2006 is just around the corner, looks like they thought it was time to show off the goods at the Electronic House Expo. Apparently DirecTV hasn’t decided the distribution medium for ‘round the house communications between units, but the thing’s got more ports than coastal town and apparently even dual sat and ATSC tuners (say wha?). Nothings set in stone (or even confirmed) yet though, so we’ll keep our ears to the ground on this one — we’re sure we’ll hear more about it this coming CES, if nowhere else."
DirecTV seems to be giving consumers what they want, plenty of connectivity options, and multiple tuners. Looks promising!
