Default Bit-tech.net's 20" Widescreen Monitor Group Test

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2006/03/30/20_inch_widescreen_monitors/1.html

"Everyone likes flat panels, right? They're more convenient than CRTs, they look better, and they're easier to stare at for long hours of desktop work. OK, so they're not quite as good for gaming, but with technology improving, they're swiftly getting there. And, of course, they come in widescreen. 20" and 24" panels are swiftly becoming must-have items for high-end enthusiasts and gamers, with decent response times and resolutions leading to some kick-ass products. We know that many of you are in the market for monitor upgrades right now, and 20" panels hit a very nice sweet spot of price and resolution. With that in mind, we grabbed five of the top panels right now to find out which one is worth your cash."

If you're in the market for a 20" widescreen LCD, I highly recommend giving this article a read. As always, bit-tech's comparison is comprehensive and informative. Their conclusion: The Viewsonic VX2025 is the best 20" widescreen for your money. I do wonder why they didn't throw Dell's 2005FPW in there as a base reference point, as that seems to be the 1680x1050 screen that everyone's got, but all in all a very good read. At the very least it lets you know what you should be looking for when comparing different units. Check it out!

*groan* Once again, testing is based heavily on black point rendering. I guess that's why the VA panels always do so well in techie sites...
