Default TV Set Emits Emergency Signal

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6276846/

"An Oregon man discovered earlier this month that his year-old Toshiba Corp. flat-screen TV was emitting an international distress signal picked up by a satellite, leading a search and rescue operation to his apartment in Corvallis, 70 miles south of Portland...Authorities had expected to find a boat or small plane with a malfunctioning transponder, the usual culprit in such incidents, emitting the 121.5 MHz frequency of the distress signal used internationally."

I've heard of malfunctioning TVs, but this is ridiculous.

Send a message via MSN to Filip Norrgard

Is this the way of the appliance should be trying to dial for the repairshop themselves?

Haha, that is funny and almost believable. But this is such a bizarre story.
