Default "Real" Video iPod Coming? Hoax or Reality?

http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/10/so-this-is-the-video-ipod-eh/

"Ok everyone, what do you think the odds are that Apple so nonchalantly let loose some images of the full-screen iPod video the very day after ThinkSecret's supposed confirmation on the video iPod hit the wires? Did we mention the Photoshop metadata in the images' EXIF tags? No, we're not at all prepared to call this a "leak," but we'll definitely attest to this being a very nice rendering of what we hope could be the 6G iPod."

Not much to report here other than that the image sure looks pretty. Poll time: think this, or something similar to this, is coming down the pipe from Apple? Vote!

Very cool and, if it exists, I will definitely get one. Unfortunately I would be surprised if it wasn't a hoax.

I can't see a company making a touch screen operated personal media player... in this mockup half the screen would have fingerprints smudging the movie!

Besides, with the current track record of innovation between generations there hasn't been that dramatic of a leap yet... and with competition feeling the pain already... why would they when they haven't maximized profit yet with the current model?

I would expect only to see incremental updates until something actually comes along and makes them sweat.

I'm with john. Anything touchscreen would be covered with smudgy finger prints and thus, would suck.

Btw I am currently enjoying my Zen Vision:M very much. Great sound (though i'm not sure why peeps say it's loud. Max volume is like %65 on my old Iriver 250 cdplayer with 20watts of audio output. ). I couldn't belive it untill I tried it but the damn thing is playing all my mainstream downloaded movies and anime without a hitch, and with some decent blending as the subtitles on my anime are readable (if it simply threw pixles out, the text becomes a disfugured mess of white pixles).

Havnt beenable to checkout the tv output though, I don't have the needed RCA cable to hack up. BTW I had no idea from the reviews I read, but that verticle thing isnt a rocker switch (well, it does go left and right) for up and down, its a damn touchpad! I love that thing!

Heh, thank you for refreshing my memory. Forgot about that one... maybe with good reason.
