"Sony unveiled its new Sony Location Free, a new TV tuner capable of streaming video wirelessly, including TV shows to any PC device. What makes this box unique is it can transmit video to the Internet so you can access the video content by connecting to the IP address. In addition, it can also connect via Wireless LAN capable with 802.11a/b/g networks and it also has a built-in ethernet port."
The unit will go in sale initially in Japan for 30,000 Yen ($300 USD) in October. We'll probably see this unit go in sale in the US by 1st quarter of 2006. A nice idea and since it supports 802.11a, I am guessing that it should even be able to transmit HDTV.
