Default APRIL FOOLS: Apple Unveils iNote, Windows-Powered Notebook PC

http://www.apple.com/inote

In a move that will surely stun a great many people, Apple today unveiled iNote, a portable PC running Windows. According to Apple, the product has secretly been in development for the past two years. Although Steve Jobs has personally been against the Mac maker releasing PC products, the move was necessary due to decreasing Mac market share and a rapidly growing installed base of Windows-based iPod users.

"The decision to create iNote caused quite a bit of controversy internally. But in the end we all knew it had be done", said Apple VP Phil Schiller. "Most iPod users are Windows users. So it makes sense to offer an integrated end-to-end solution of a Windows portable combined with our award winning iPod."

Hmm, interesting specs.
There must be some proprietary firmware inside that thing because they claim it runs XP64 N off a Transmeta Crusoe 500MHz with 64Mb of RAM and a 10GB HD. Which is a *major* achievement for a $5000 9 Lb laptop with a SVGA screen!

Thing bears looking into...
I guess this is the kind of product the Euros wanted to see when they forced MS to produce a version of Windows without WMP...
