I want to dump cable and set use a computer to watch our shows, DVDs, etc. I have been looking at Boxee and wonder if that would be a good solution.

What I want to know is if anyone has any experience with it (Boxee and/or dumping cable and going online) and what sort of hardware I should look for. I should also mention that we are finally going to get rid of our CRT TV and get a flat-panel (probably a 32" 1080p).

I'm considering a Dell Studio Hybrid, Mac Mini or Apple TV. I would prefer something with a DVD player built-in which sort of leaves out the Apple TV, but I am not averse to a separate DVD player of some sort.

Guess I'm looking for some input, suggestions and/or direction from anyone who has either made the switch or has done research into this.
