Default USB Memory Key Round Up From CES

USB memory keys (or Jump Drives as some like to call them) have quickly replaced CDs as the de facto standard for distribution of press materials . I did still receive a some CDs from 2 or 3 different companies, most exhibitors provided a USB memory key with their information on it. I managed to take home 8 different USB memory keys. I thought it would be fun to do a run down of who I got a key from and what size it was. :-)

Starting from the smallest and working up to the largest:

128 MB - Skype
256 MB - Corsair
512 MB - Life ware, Legget & Platt, Stardock
1 GB - Kingston
2 GB - Lenovo (x2)

Yes, there's one missing from this picture.  My wife grabbed one of the 2GB models from Lenovo before I was able to snap this picture! ;-)

I have a nice red-coloured drive the same as the Life Ware drive you have in your picture. I got it from Adobe. I like that I can fold the business end away under the metal loop when its not in use :-)

Oh.. RED! nice. I have a number of those style keys as well. I like the Lenovo the best and it's not just because it's the largest copacity. It is small and thin and has a spot for a lanyard as well. It's not an outer loop like the lifeware, but a cutout that goes into the end of the unit. Plus it has a spot where you can label it. The label actually says "User ID:", but I expect to use it more for contents than ownership.

If you get to the point of wondering what to do with all your Flash drives (you only need so many), I'd encourage you to contact a local school and donate them - I gave all of mine to my mother-in-law, who's a math teacher at a high school, and they all got used.
