MPEG Files on the Zune?
I just got Portishead's new "Third" Album for my birthday. The version I got actually came with 2 LPs and a USB drive shaped like a P. Very cool.
The USB drive came with several MPEG videos. I copied them to my video folder, but (in a sub folder) but the Zune desktop doesn't seem to see them.
The music files were pulled in with no problem from the music folder.
Is the Zune supposed to recognize MPEG, or do I need to convert them?

As I've previously said I don't own a Zune.
But this is a community and I'd like to help you as much as I can.
So I've done some research and this is what I've found:
Zune currently
works with :
WMA, MP3,
AAC for audio,
WMV,
MPEG-4 ,
H.264 for video
and JPEG for pictures.
So you'll have to convert it
Zamzar it's an online free tool for doing that

The Zune requires WMV3, and there is no open-source WMV3 encoder, so neither of those tools will create a WMV file that can be directly synced to the Zune - the Zune software will have to convert them first.
If you want to use WMV and convert them only once, then download Windows Media Encoder - it's free, and it supports WMV3 (a/k/a WMV 9).
However, those will both work for MP4/H.264, which can be synced directly without conversion.

I've decided to convert them from MPG to MPEG4.

Looks like you got this problem solved, but next time you could also try loading it into Windows Movie Maker and generate a WMV file from that.
