Hey all.......new to this forum....I love my ZUNE..

I have my complete system in my 1959 Impala running directly to my ZUNE, no radio, nothing, straight to the zune! Running 6x9's, 2 12's Pionneer subs etc.....so my question/frustration:

I just received my Dock with the remote; the dock seems to be charging fine, but the REMOTE doesn't do anything? I'm either dumb or it's broke....is there something I forget to do or did not see? I have my car all ready to install the dock.....(I got the dock specifically for this purpose) I did not want to cut the original dash on the Impala so the zune was perfect and it sounds ridiculous!!! But the main ingredient (remote) is not functioning. Yes, the battery came with it and is installed correctly....HELP.....I'm hoping it's not broke.....I wanted it installed and ready this weekend. Thank you!

It is a IR system, so of course you need to have the dock out where the remote can see it.

To check the remote, you can use a digital camera, even one in a cell phone. Point the remote at the camera lens, like you are going to take a picture of the end. Hit a button and look for light in the view screen. Your eyes can't see the IR but the camera can and will show it to you.

Verify this with a TV remote or something. You will at least know if the remote is transmitting. could be a bad battery if not.

Perhaps the battery that it shipped with is drained. You never know how long it sat in storage.
