Pictured above is a forthcoming speaker dock from Altec Langsing, as posted on by Bill Wittress over at ZuneGuy. Right now all we have is this pretty picture: there's no information on pricing, release date, size, weight, in/out ports, etc. It's basically just a big tease. I can just barely make out some buttons on the top of the unit, but it's impossible to know exactly what they do. But it's a nice-looking tease!

Is Zune going to have anything equivalent to iPod's universal dock adapter? I mean, say I buy the 1st Zune and this speaker system, will the speaker still work with whatever 2nd generation Zune device I may buy in a year or two?

IMO the universal dock adapter concept for iPod though long overdue is a real plus for its accessory ecosystem. If you buy a speaker system or dock that uses it, it will work with not only the current iPods, but almost all older iPods as well (and you get the adapters for older iPods along with the accessory - the newer iPods all ship with their own adapter), and as long as Apple doesn't abandon their own system, for future iPods as well.
