Powered by Android Operating System 2.2, the Samsung GALAXY Tab is the first of the company's tablet devices, representing a new category of mobile products for Samsung. The Samsung GALAXY Tab brings together all of Samsung's leading innovations to provide users with more capabilities while on the move. Consumers are able to experience PC-like web-browsing and enjoy all forms of multimedia content on the perfectly sized 7-inch display, wherever they go. Moreover, users can continuously communicate via e-mail, voice and video call, SMS/MMS or social network with the optimized user interface."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/adt/auto/1283469248.usr110024.jpg" style="border: 0px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p><p>The Samsung Galaxy Tab looks interesting and may have some promise, but it also appears as if some features could be improved, such as the 3 MP camera and a more common power adapter. But then again, all genres of new technology have room for improvement.</p>

I still can't decide if I want/need an Android tablet. This device looks awesome but do I need it?

I do the majority of my email and web browsing from my Nexus One when at home. I only turn my computer on to play a game or watch a DVD. The online experience from my phone is great. What could make that better? A larger screen sure wouldn't hurt. The part that bothers me is having to install all of my programs and duplicate all of my data (comics and ebooks mostly) to yet another device.
Maybe I should have waited for a Dell Streak instead of my Nexus One. :)

Oh well, I'm sure I'll cave at some point and get one just to play with. Comic books sure would look nice on a 7 or 10 inch screen. ;)

Yes, I am really hoping this tablet delivers as it says. It would be really nice to have phone and internet capabilities on a device that is bigger than a mobile phone screen yet smaller than a heavy laptop to carry around!

Nice looking device, but I can't think of anything I would want to do with a 7" screen that I can't do already with my Incredible or my laptop (11.6"). Since it doesn't have GPS, I couldn't use it in my car for navigation either. I think the screen is just a little to small for regular use, I'll have to squint to read any websites, or zoom in and have to scroll all over the place.

Can't believe I missed that. There's *no* GPS? SRSLY!

It definitely has GPS. Samsung's official shots and videos even show it using Navigation. Check out Engadget's pictures:
