Have you used this particular one, and if so, how do you like it? Or are you like me and don't have a GPS app, relying instead on the mapping app for the iPhone? Is this enough of a price drop to entice you to enter the GPS or navigation app marketplace?</p>

Any word on their being made universal some time in the future? I know the ipad isn't the best navigatin device; nevertheless, i'd certainly welcome a native ipad version which is also compatoble with my iphones.

And what about the retina display. Will it be supported.

not sure on universal, but it would be good on that, it does say its updated for iOS 4 to include multitasking and switching

The app for Canada and the USA seems a bit buggy. For no apparent reason it keeps popping me back to my home screen. I did install iOS 4.02 already. The 1GB download took a while to get, but the ability to use it 'offline' will be worthwhile, I hope.

With all my travel for work, I'm experimenting with Mapquest's app, AT&T Navigator, and Navigon, in hopes of being able to leave my Garmin GPS at home. I like Navigon's ability to import Contacts as favorites. I'll know more when I begin to test them out, starting this weekend in California.

I've been using Navigon for about a month now and while it seems to work great at navigating me around the Atlanta area, it's somewhat crippled by the weak GPS reception I get from my iPhone 3GS. I use an Otterbox to protect it and I definitely can't have that on when I want to use the GPS since the case weakens the signal to an almost unusable state. Without the case, I still lose signal occasionally, but Navigon seems to work very well in spite of the phone's shortcomings. I purchased it on sale for $49.99 and at $39.99 for all of North America, it seems like a great deal!

Now if only I can figure out how to hook up my external bluetooth GPS to my iPhone without having to Jailbreak it, I think it would be a great navigation device with the Navigon software...
