And Apple never said it was "indestructible" as the Engadge article states, but it is cause for concern if this was just from normal wear and tear. Walt Mossberg said he didn't have the same issue, and he dropped his review unit a few times from varying heights, but of course we don't know what "normal use" included. In pocket with keys? I expect a few scratches out of any device that gets as much use as my iPhone, but if it's glass then I would hope that it is more resistant than this review unit.</p>

I just bought a case for mine today - not bumpers. I wanted to protect the back. As a nice side benefit, the case "solves" the antenna problem reported on Engadget and various other sites.

What Crimsonsky said plus, adding the case (a Frogz slider, for me) makes the phone fit more snugly in the belt pouch I use.

When we finally got through the line today, no bumpers available. But on the way back to work stopped by AT&T, which by the way wasn't selling non-preorder iPhone 4s, but they did have that slider Frogz case. Love it! Much better than the bumper in my opinion (we did get a look at one that one of the Apple employees had on their iPhone 4).
