Of course, I am talking about whether you should purchase the $199 iPhone 4 with 16 GB of flash memory space or will you need the 32 GB model and pay Apple $299? The answer to that question depends on how you anticipate that you will be using the new device."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1276536124.usr105634.jpg" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p><p>One perspective on which version iPhone 4 you might need. I tend to agree that the 16GB is probably good for most people, even with some video thrown in, at least that is what I am leaning towards. What version are you going to pre-order?</p>

32 GB. The author seems to think that an iPhone cannot replace an iPod. I disagree, my iPhone has replaced my iPod, and I don't foresee buying another iPod as long as I'm using an iPhone. I would get 64 GB if it were an option. Anyway, smart playlists to rotate out your content are the way to go.

I agree, I am deeply disappointed that they aren't producing a 64gb model. Apple is hyping this as an "HD" phone, that can play HD movies and take HD video. Well, a 2 hour movie is about 4gb in size, wiping out one quarter of a 16gb's storage. Even 32gb isn't much anymore.

I find it funny the author doesn't think 32GB is enough to replace the iPod with an iPhone. I still use my 4th Gen iPod (32GB) at work and around the house. I've been borrowing my wife's Nano (16GB) for jogging and walking the dog.

I do not keep a lot of pictures from my current phone, so that should not be an issue. As for movies, apps, etc. I'll see how it goes...

Overall, I figure I'll pay a $100 premium to get 32GB. That way, I can use the charging station in my office to keep the phone fully charged and I don't need to carry a second device.

Now I just need to invest in an armstrap for when I'm jogging and I won't need to borrow the Nano either :)

Are we just totally disregarding the Black vs White question? That is where the true agonizing will occur. We do still have that choice, right?

I'd thought the color choice was a no-brainer for me: black, of course. But then I started comparing Engadget's hands-on photo sets of both the white and black models. The white model looks quite sharp and hides the fingerprints better. I'm just not convinced about the white bezel on the front though in terms of screen readability. Would be nice to have a bit different look for a change. So now I'm not sure.

With 2 iPods (80GB and 160GB) and considering that I don't even use the 8GB on my current iPhone, it's the 16GB model for me. Until either or both of my iPods die, I don't see me really having a need for more storage. (Although if they come out with a 128GB model, I'd buy it - I need 110GB to hold all my music. And no, that's not a joke).

I'll stick with the black colour as well.

I've got a 32GB 3GS and I'm also waiting for a higher capacity model. 128GB would be ideal but I guess I'll have to settle for 64GB in a year's time.

And it's black every time for me. I'm too worried about the cracks that have been seen in Apple's white products (iPhone, MacBook).

Black 32. Sounds like the roulette wheel doesn't it? :)

Black 32 as well. I was leaning that way anyhow and then Engadget posted an article/rumor that the white phone is being delayed. Guess we'll find out in a few hours.

I usually opt for the 32GB but since I have a 64GB iPad I don't see the need for that much storage now. I'll be preordering the black 16GB tomorrow

Black isn't immune to the problem, either. I have a black iPhone 3G with cracks around the volume control and dock connector. I've also seen a black MacBook with cracks in the usual spots. If anything, the cracks are less visible on black than white. But that ship has sailed. The materials that Apple uses now, along with their unibody engineering methods, have more or less eradicated the cracking issue.

An unlocked black 32 GB for me.

If you're after white, you're out of luck. They're currently unavailable for pre-order or in-store pickup.

Did not pre-order...but when available...the 32GB White will be for me. Like others above...very disappointed there is not a 64GB version as I'm going from 32GB to 32GB.
