Following in the footsteps of the HD 5670, we have the Radeon HD 5450, which drags the entry price for DirectX 11 and Eyefinity multi-monitor support all the way down to $50."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/wpt/auto/1265311859.usr11334.jpg" style="border: 0;" /></p><p>It's rare that a graphics manufacturer releases a card aimed purely at multimedia and not gaming, but this is exactly what ATI are doing. Say hello to the HD 5450 which is aimed at people requiring a silent, yet powerful enough card to handle the multimedia requirements we now demand of our Media Center PCs.&nbsp; If that's not good enough news for you, then then price will be - $50.&nbsp;</p>

PASSIVELY COOLED CARDS FTW! :D:D:D

Seriously, I wish more companies understood that silence is golden and passively cooled cards ROCK. They're SO hard for me to find - even big stores like Tiger Direct and NewEgg don't have passively cooled cards as a video card category...

I dunno. I would miss some whirring. I was brought up sleeping to the sound of noisy window airconditioners that the split-system ones are too quiet for my liking. So, a totally silent PC is a bit weird.

That said, I don't miss the sound of a Delta 7k RPM fan. I'm glad things are much quieter now without sacrificing performance.
