The update fixes flaws that could lead to arbitrary code execution or app crashes when playing maliciously crafted mp4 files, viewing maliciously crafted TIFF images, and accessing maliciously crafted FTP servers. It also fixes a USB-related issue that could grant access to data on locked iPhones, and fixes an issue where Mail could send unwanted data in certain situations when HTML 5 media elements load."

It is also supposed to improve battery level accuracy on the 3GS, fix a third party launch problem with certain apps and a compatibility issue with users of the Japanese Kana keyboard. This is a free update via iTunes.
