Watch for it!</p><p><strong>UPDATE:</strong> The Twitter client is now live in the Marketplace. Anyone tried it yet? What do you think of it? Some screen shots after the break. I'm on Twitter a fair bit, so this app is by far the most useful of them all for me. What I really want is an email client though... <MORE /></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com//zt/auto/1261005912.usr1.png" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /> <img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com//zt/auto/1261005922.usr1.png" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com//zt/auto/1261005931.usr1.png" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /> <img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com//zt/auto/1261005940.usr1.png" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com//zt/auto/1261005949.usr1.png" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /></p>

{Sigh} As I use neither Twitter nor Facebook, the Zune HD platform still seems to have gone no where since launch.

You can say that the Zune team has limited resources, and I'm sure that is true. But if they only opened up development they wouldn't have to worry about it because the community would improve it for them.

Of course I don't own a Zune HD so perhaps I have no right to say anything.

Hey, if they put out an ePub/PDF reader, I would be happy.

Here's hoping that the platform picks up steam at some point. I'm still hoping Microsoft can pull out a winner here. Especially as a ZunePass subscriber.

Indeed...they key to growing an app store for a platform is not to do everything by yourself, it's to let developers do the work for you! This is puzzling behaviour by the Zune team.

I don't really see much need for a Twitter app, maybe just for promotion they can now show the infamous Twitter and Facebook logos on the Zune site alongst the Zune HD? Just like every other product being sold nowadays. But seriously, why would I bother with loading up my Zune HD, connecting it to a wifi spot, loading up the app, and tweeting when most people can just pull out their phone and send a text? Not to rain on their last several weeks' worth of work, but I agree with Philip, because of their limited resources, they should open up the floor for others to do the work and unleash the potential that the Zune HD has built-in.

This is partially why I argued that there shouldn't even BE an app store. Either go all out or don't bother. Because a half-assed attempt looks even worse!

Don't have a ZuneHD, don't care about it, so why post?

Well, he does have a Zune and is a Zune Pass subscriber, so I think he has the right to comment. Heck, people can comment here even if they don't own a Zune. :D

It's very well done, but it's nothing revolutionary, but I do like that they kept the "swipe" interface.

But since I'm not a tweeter, I don't think that I'll be using it too much. :)

HEAR ME, ZUNE TEAM; I REQUIRE AN EMAIL CLIENT.

Ooh! Ooh!
I'd like an ebook reader and an audio book reader that allows me to navigate between chapters please.

Just read review on it. Seems to be buggy and laggy. Also is censoring curse words ? The UI looks good though

So...
Let me get this straight. They just released an app and its buggy and censored?

Phillip, let's keep in mind who's saying that - look at his username and his posting history here. ;)

I just tested it out, it has a fantastic UI - it looks great. The keyboard is quite amazing at correctly figuring out what I'm typing, which is no small feat given how small it is. I didn't encounter any bugs, and I tapped through the entire UI, every screen. The censorship thing is that on the device, in the app, certain words are censored - but if you tweet them, it doesn't censor your tweet. I don't know why this matters, though I guess some people need to see swearing for some reason.

It is a 1.0 app, so I don't doubt that there are some bugs here and there - what 1.0 software is ever perfect?

Put the skirts away ladies. All I did was mention things the review pointed out. Unlike Jason I didn't go out of my way to use it as a dig against MS.
