This retails for around $60.00 USD. I like the addition of the USB ports and the form factor is very nice.&nbsp;</p>

Do the new MBPs actually allow you to close the lid without sleeping? I know the old ones didn't because the cooling system relied on venting through the keyboard. If not, then this will make a really nice way to display a sleeping notebook. :)

Ah good question! I know on my older MBP, as long as I had monitor plugged in it would stay awake, so I'm assuming this is the same. There are also some shareware programs that bypass the sleep when lid is closed feature.

My 17" pre-unibody model sleeps if the lid is closed regardless of whether there's an external monitor attached. Honestly, I'd be a little scared to bypass it. Mine gets HOT. Maybe the unibody's have a different method of cooling that will still work with the monitor closed or perhaps this stand does some magic to keep it cooler...
