One app, <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=312101965&amp;mt=8" target="_blank">Epicurious</a>, saw a boost in downloads of 20,000 just after a commercial ran that had featured their application. But when it boils down to it, the people making these adds use the product too, so fill the need and don't make a crappy app, perhaps you will get noticed. I think it is more luck than anything when it comes to being featured in one of the commercials, or perhaps a little of who you know.</p>
