According to the article, they have found that the price point developers are settling into is the $3.99 USD to $4.99 USD range but they think consumers may be shopping with the wrong focus. The focus seems to be comparing the price of apps to one another instead of the value you will get out of the app. I think it may be a combination and those two points aren't exactly mutually exclusive. If I can find an app that gives me what I'm looking for that is a buck or two cheaper, isn't that focusing on both value and price comparisons? What is your limit on apps? How do you judge what you will spend?&nbsp;</p>

Well I just recently purchased eWallet and that represents my most expensive purchase to date ($9.99). Virtually all of the other apps I have are in the Free to $2.99 range.

Having bought the Navigon Mobile Navigator for $70, I guess my tolerance is a bit higher than most. Sort of depends on the value. In this case I am aware of the cost of the data behind the app, so the price seemed fair. I get a bit cautious when it goes over $10 normally, but that certainly isn't a firm ceiling.

Having bought dozens of Windows Mobile apps for much more than most apps in the App Store, I don't really have a limit per se. To me, all the apps are in the iTunes store are dirt cheap compared to Windows Mobile apps. My most expensive app was UltraLingua Spanish that I paid $20 for. IIRC the same app on Windows Mobile cost me $30. I only paid 99 cents for WordBook and I think I paid something like $20 for it on Windows Mobile. So I'm fine with most App Store prices.
