It isn't a device that is going to wow anybody with its specifications, but it knows its place in life, which is heavy messaging duties. We give it a go in this quick hands-on review."</em></p><p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="600" height="360" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mp7ilEVGaeQ" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="600" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mp7ilEVGaeQ"></embed></object></p><p>Michael Oryl takes a look at the new HTC Snap from Sprint, and in general his conclusions echo my first impressions of the unit - though with Sprint telling HTC to put the caps button where the "A" key should be, I think this version is going to be just as typing error-prone as <a href="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/news/show/94157/htc-snap-unboxing-and-first-impressions.html" target="_blank">the European version that I looked at</a>. It seems <a href="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/news/show/94171/htc-snap-will-be-t-mobile-dash-3g.html" target="_blank">only T-Mobile got it right</a> in terms of the placement of that key.</p>

The HTC Ozone (Verizon's Snap equivalent) also has a more normal key placement.
