Email Account Setup Problems

I just got an identical replacement for a lost HTC6800 (WM6.0). I installed a full backup from the lost phone on the new one, and everything is working fine, except I can't set up my email accounts. Each time I try I get a popup message telling me that the account name is already in use. I've searched the registry and can't find anything with my email address, account name, etc., and there are no email accounts showing when I go to Messaging on the phone. Everything is done OTA; I don't use ActiveSync as it's too problematic.

Is there some way I can clear out entries/history somewhere on the phone to avoid having to hard reset and installing everything individually?

BTW, the installed backup is a "clean" restore point, with all my basic stuff installed, and none of the little extras I like to play around with.
