Shopping there is so simple, so instantaneous, and often so cheap per-app, that it almost becomes a thoughtless act. "This app looks cool. I'll try it." A dollar here, a few dollars there."</em></p><p><em><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1235392982.usr18053.jpg" /></em></p><p>I'll tell you one thing: I'm spending way more than I ever spent on any other device I've ever owned on Applications. &nbsp;I got my iPhone 3G on July 11th (does it surprise anyone that I got it on release day?) and before I even left the mall I had already purchased MLB At Bat. &nbsp; In fact, that one app was the one that put me over the top and got me to buy a second iPhone after selling my first one in January and using the N95 my wife got me for my birthday. &nbsp; The App Store has proven, despite its shortcomings, to be one of the biggest selling points and most used features of the iPhone. &nbsp; It's pretty remarkable what ease of use can do for numbers, and it's pretty apparent that everyone has noticed. &nbsp;Everyone from RIM and Symbian to the great&nbsp;behemoth&nbsp;of Redmond are scrambling to build their own App Stores mimicking Apple's (whose implementation may be new, but if you think about it, it's almost identical to Ubuntu's Application Manager) to try and cash in on their success.</p><p>How much are you guy spending in the App Store? &nbsp;I'd say counting apps I've gotten rid of, I'm easily up around $175.</p>

I tend to be very careful about what I buy, cheap price or not. I won't spend even 99 cents on an app that I find of limited utility.

When I had my Touch, I only bought one application - a Bible reader, and that only to hold me over until Laridian releases their Pocket Bible. That being said, even though I didn't buy them, the apps that interested me the most tended to be the more expensive ones because they are either ports of popular apps I use on my WM device or offer similar functionality. Even among the free apps, I only have a few (eReader, Mobile News Network, Evernote, NetNewsWire and 1Password).

Looks like I'll finally be getting another Touch in the next couple of weeks and then I'll browse the app store more thoroughly, but I still don't see me spending a ton of money in the store.

I've spent maybe $20 on apps/games. The apps I've had the most need for have all been free. eBay, Paypal, Amazon, Craigslist, Now Playing, etc.

I bet I'm up to at least $75, probably closer to $100 if I really counted it all up. :-)

So far I've only put free applications on my iPod Touch. I did get a few interesting >$5 programs on Black Friday when there was some kind of sale going on, but they were on sale for free at that point.
