VZW announced the <a href="http://news.vzw.com/news/2008/11/pr2008-11-25a.html">Omnia</a> and <a href="http://news.vzw.com/news/2008/11/pr2008-11-24b.html" target="_blank">Touch Pro</a> this past week, and it looks like Verizon-ites will have a chance to snag a great device when they make their appearence in stores. Now if I could just pick between the two!</p>

I ordered my Omnia online and it was delivered on Friday and despite the learning curve I must say I love this device.

I moved from a Samsung I760 - which was an absolute great phone - to the Touch pro this weekend (Verizon) and I must say that HTC pretty much thought of everything (if not close to everything) with this phone. Just the simple fact that they enabled finger scrolling on EVERYTHING (setting, outlook...) is a winner for me. SPB implemented something similar but it was never that good; HTC's version works flawless... flawless. On top of that you have the TouchFLO 3D interface which is hands down the best GUI interface for WM.

Previously I used SPB Mobile shell with a skin from XDA forums and it was pretty good but it doesn't compare to the effortless nav in TF3D.

I highly, highly recommend this phone. It does have 196MB (not 128) ram and it flies --- absolutley no slowness issues whatso ever. The on-screen keyboard replacement from HTC is so good that I have never even used the slide-out keyboard yet!

Just my .02

Jon, speaking as a big fan of Samsung, go with the Touch Pro. TouchFLO 3D is infinitely better thought out than Samsung's TouchWiz, and while the Pro's keyboard isn't the best I've seen, it's a lot better than the Omnia's no keyboard. And the screens are no comparison.

How well does finger scrolling work on a long Web page? Are there still scroll bars so you can easily move to the bottom of a page, or does that require multiple flicks?

It looks like Verizon is doing a pretty good job lately of getting cool Windows Mobile phones. With the Samsung Saga (a world phone) and now the Omnia and Touch Pro, I don't feel so jealous of AT&T or T-Mobile users. :)
