It appears we missed the boat on the release of the Shadow II. AllShadow.com is now reporting that there will be no holiday cheer for the Shadow II. Sources are reported as indicating that the new HTC Windows Mobile device could be released in January of 2009 or be pushed further back later in the first quarter of 2009."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/spt/auto/1227246384.usr8.jpg" /></p><p>This is sad news indeed. I for one was really looking forward to the release of the T-Mobile Shadow II. I really liked the look and feel of the original T-Mobile Shadow and if I was T-Mobile customer at the time of its release I would have definitely picked up this device. Well, here is hoping the device is released soon. The staggering drop in Windows Mobile Standard devices being released to the public is almost alarming and any new device is greatly welcomed in my eyes.</p>

Let's hope,
More than likely though unfruitfully, that the Shadow II is going back for 3g, Wi-Fi and bluetooth connectivity.
Let's hope.
Oh, and a better battery than the original, this growth on the back of mine makes it look rather, shall we say, mentally challenged . .
Let's hope.
WM 6.1 or 6.5 even?
Let's hope.
Oh and will I ever get to take this umbilical cord off it?
Let's hope.
Support for the new 8gb, 16gb and 32gb micro SD cards?
Let's hope.
Oh, how about it ringing once in a while too. I had a friend call me 14 times last Sunday to have me bring him to the hospital because he was defecating blood and it never rang. It wasn't until I saw the screen going stupid that I saw it. Yes the volume was up and it was on vibrate and the profile was on normal.
Let's hope!
Can I dream or what?

I'm not crazy about the look of the device at all. In a way I think the older one looked nicer. I'd love them to have made the Shadow II look like the Touch Diamond/Touch Pro.

Are you familiar with the concept of "overshare". I think saying he needed to go to the hospital would have been sufficient.

That's confusing. What do you mean it was on vibrate and the profile was Normal? My Motorola Q9m has a Vibrate profile and a Normal profile. If I have it set to Vibrate, I wouldn't expect it to ring.

Do you mean that your Normal profile had Ring type set to Vibrate and ring?

Yeah, I agree - the old one had a nice look about it. Quite unique...this one looks different, but not really in a good way. Maybe it will look better in person?
