Travel plans start up to a year before The Games, and from there on you continue to prepare until the games begin. In this post, I will discuss how I did my best to prepare for these games in advance, and how I packed all of my equipment for the Olympics-something that took well over a month on its own in the end. (You can find a gallery of how I packed my equipment, and a detailed explanations of each step here.)"

If you've ever wondered what the life of a professional sports photographer is like, I only have one word for it: wow. This story explains some of the preparations for his trip to shoot the Olympics in Beijing. And over on his blog, he details how many shots he came back with: a staggering 28,444 photos, 480 GB worth. I'll say it again: wow. Definitely worth the read...

I followed his blog during the Olympics - very interesting all of the work and prep that goes into it. Of course, the equipment list alone is a full read!
