Getting rid of the wires means you won’t get tangled up with long hair, bag straps or exercise equipment at the gym. But there are limitations."

If you are considering getting some wireless headphones, you've got to take a look at this rundown at Tom's. Besides a discussion of Bluetooth headphones in general, they review 8 different pairs.

Just what I've been looking for! There aren't a whole lot of reviews out there covering more recent BT stereo headphones.

Nice article. I've got a set of MOTOROKR S9s and I love them, except the mini USB car charger I have for my phone doesn't charge them :(

I've previously used Jabra bt320s and it was OK byt the wires kept getting tangled, and the mic wasn't that good. Had a similar style iTech one that wasn't good at all. I wear mine on the bicycle and they need to be a bit rain and sweat proof.

Anyway I'd recoment the S9s, particularly if you cycle

Yeah, freakin' Motorola and their "it looks like miniUSB but it's not really miniUSB". You might find something that works at www.gomadic.com.

I'll post a dissenting vote and say no. Really, no. Learn to live with wires if you can. A2DP just doesn't sound very good, since it makes the audio stream undergo another lossy compression (compressing your MP3s, yum).

Don't Panic!

I've got the Pulsar 590As and they do sound as good as he says. If you forego the accessory pack you can find them pretty cheap online but one thing this review doesn't mention is the large flashing blue circle that comes on when you use them. This circle is like 2 inches in diameter and flashes extremely brightly while in use. If you're living with someone forget about using them in bed and when riding public transportation try to find a seat to yourself. One night while walking through Downtown Boston I thought the police were after me but the flashing blue lights turned out to be my headphones reflecting off the display windows.

Yeah, I'm with you - I'd rather put up with wires than deal with degraded audio. Although I should say that I've never tried Bluetooth in-ear headphones, so maybe they sound better than the over-the-ear ones I've tried.

I have the S9 also -- Would NOT buy them again. The first set died after about 2 weeks of very gental use. Took almost a month to get a replacement. The replacement cuts out occasionally (esp when i turn my head to the right). I think they sound great (moto Q9h) but a little uncomfortable when I wear my glasses.

Also - just got back from a business trip - and on the trip out - the battery died and everyone around me got the pleasure of listening to some Joplin (janis) I think this should auto switch to pause when it dies -- Plus got told that bluetooth on the plane is forbidden 100% of the time.
