View Full Version : Re-Launch Contest: And The Winners Are...(Batch #1)

And here are the winners! I had hoped to get this done sooner, but the reality is that as much as I love doing contests, when it comes time to draw for the winner I realize how much work it is and I swear I won't do another contest for at least six months. That feeling usually lasts about a month. ;-) So, without further ado, here are the winners of the first five contests:<br /><ul> <li><a href="http://www.digitalhomethoughts.com/news/show/32489/re-launch-contest-1-nti-backup-now-5.html">Contest #1</a>: In the drawing for four copies of <a href="http://www.ntius.com/backup_now.asp?p=s&amp;pic=2" target="_blank">NTI Backup Now 5</a>, the winners are <em>Cybrid</em>, <em>GadgetDave</em>, <em>makicr</em>, and <em>David Horn</em>.</li> <li><a href="http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/showthread.php?t=32507" target="_blank">Contest #2:</a> In the drawing for three <a href="http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=2725&amp;t_mode=des" target="_blank">Proporta Mobile Device Chargers</a>, the winners are <em>wynand32, David Horn </em>and <em>mamoleh.</em><br /> </li> <li><a href="http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/showthread.php?t=32514" target="_blank">Contest #3:</a> In the drawing for two copies of <a href="http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ca/en/Product/1184603817896" target="_blank">Corel DVD Copy 6 Plus</a>, the winners are <em>makicr, </em>and<em> rkistler</em>.<br /> </li> <li><a href="http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/showthread.php?t=32530" target="_blank">Contest #4</a>: In the drawing for one copy of <a href="http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Dazzle/Dazzle+Video+Archiving/Dazzle+Video+Creator+Platinum.htm" target="_blank">Pinnacle Dazzle Video Creator Platinum</a>, the winner is <em>JPD6825</em>.<br /> </li> <li><a href="http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/showthread.php?t=32544">Contest #5</a>: In the drawing for five copies of <a href="http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/crunch/windows/overview.html" target="_blank">Roxio Crunch</a>, the winners are <em>mboone, johnlane, timmy, JPD6825, </em>and<em> wynand32.</em></li></ul>You'll notice a few people won multiple prizes - with some multi-prize contests having less than 30 entries, the odds were pretty good for everyone who entered! The winners will be contacted via vBulletin private message over the next couple of days (once I confirm things with the vendors), so be sure to check your inbox. Please give me until Wednesday before you start emailing me asking about your prize. Next up, batch #2...(stand by for a day or two).

Congrats to all the winners! (And you lucky double-winners, too) :D

Maybe I'll have a greater chance of winning the lottery next weekend now that I didn't win in this contest...? ;)

Hooray for me. Double winner. I just hope that I didn't use up all of my luck on these ones, when the biggun prizes come up.

Congrats guys...

Holy double-winners.

Jason; I thought that wasn't likely to happen! :P

Yeah, I was a bit surprised at the number of double-winners myself, but unless random.org has some sort of bug in their code, the winners really were picked randomly. :D

Random means that it's hard to predict the results. :)

Well done to all the winners!

I don't think you need to explain your self. We know all these contests are fixed. :)

You and the rest of the team do a great job here and with the other "thoughts" websites. Sometimes you guys need to be thanked for your hard work and dedication. Maybe your wifes/girlfriends need a thank you too. After all, with all the time and effort you guys put in here, that probably leaves less time for them.

Yeah, that's certainly true - especially over the past few months as we've dealt with security issues. Jorj's wife might not remember what he looks like some weeks. :o

Do you mean fixed as in fixing? I don't think so as I myself hve been an unlikely winner who should not have won if they are 'fixed'.

Edgar pushes Jason back to Random.org for selecting the next batch of contest winners. Waiting ten days between win announcements is excruciating! :D

Actually, I think he's still waiting for the small brown envelope stuffed with cash (from me) to reach him before the next draw - it simply wouldn't do for me not to win.

Any idea when batch #2 will be announced? Jason said it would be a couple days... Just hoping that my luck is a little better than the first batch!

Guys, I'm REALLY sorry for not getting to this sooner - got back from Japan, got hacked, then was at the MVP Summit for a week, got back, and am trying to get a million things done - I'm really going to try to get through at least the notifications of all the winners of batch #1 today, then publishing batch #2 today.... :o

Ok, I've now contacted all of the winners (via private forum messaging) from this batch of prizes. Tomorrow AM I'll post the results of the second batch of prizes. :D

Ok, the vendors have been emailed with all of your names/addresses for the first five prizes - I didn't respond back to each of the private messages, but hopefully you'll see your prizes soon. :D

I'm just working on the second batch of prizes, #6 to #10. Watch the front page...
