WM 6.1 for i608?

Does anyone know when Samsung will release a Windows Mobile 6.1 update for the SGH-i608? I emailed samsung earlier today, and the reply I got was that they didn't know anything about WM 6.1....

I suspect the Samsung rep who replied to your e-mail was a little clueless.

Samsung does know about Windows Mobile 6.1, but they've only announced an upgrade for the BlackJack II for now. That may change in the future, and if it does, we'll announce it on the front-page.

Can't wait for the upgrade! It'd make my i608 even better than it is now. Looking at all the screenshots make me envious...

If you don't mind unsupported software, there IS a WM6.1 ROM for the Blackjack floating around. I'm not sure how the i608 differs from the i607. But the ROM is pretty good.

The main difference compared to the i607 that I can see is the keypad is a little different, the i608 can make video calls, and it already comes STANDARD with WM6 from factory. Not too sure about the other little details.


Regardless, I don't see why Samsung shouldn't release a 6.1 update for my i608. It's not like jumping from 6 to 6.1 would be a big upgrade.
