I would like to be able to use the notes that I take on my digital recorder and sink them up with Microsoft word transforming them into written documents instead of recordings . Has this been done?

Has this been done?Yes. There are PC based software that will recognize & transcribe voice recordings. Not having used one...I cannot recommended one.
