At the moment, the new variants appear to be limited to SE Asia (lucky me), but I can't imagine it being confined to my part of the woods for very long, as Arne notes. You can probably blame carrier testing and unsold inventories for that - score another point for the unlocked, unsubsidised phone business model. :devilboy:
