<img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/wey-20060822-jasjam.jpg" /><br /><br />It seems that i-mate Australia/New Zealand has started reassuring its customers that an official Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for the JASJAM is on its way. In an e-mail exchange with Pocket PC Thoughts reader, Barney Craggs, i-mate stated the following: <!><br /><br /><i>"We appreciate your loyalty towards I-mate as a customer, we are going to launch the ultimate series in September, and we are currently testing windows mobile 6 for our devices, as soon we are through the testing we will release an update for existing devices and announce for the same."</i><br /><br /><i>"Yes JASJAM is amongst those devices for which WIN 6.0 is compatible."</i><br /><br /><i>"Yes there will be an official upgrade to WIN 6.0 but we can't tell you the time frame that when it will be available. We will make an announcement once we have completed this work and confirmed network approvals."</i><br /><br />Unfortunately, a release date has yet to be set in stone, but we'll keep our eyes and ears open and let you know when more details surface.

WM6 upgrade for Jasjar will never happen. As far as I know, no HTC Universal re-brandings have offered any WM6 upgrade. Yes, one can find all kind of ROMs that crushes everything called Copyright and warranty, but I think you and all Jasjar owners must stick to the WM5.

Also, I have my doubt about Jasjam WM6 upgrade. Perhaps it will come, but I don't think this will lead to other devices having an WM6 upgrade. Well, we'll see..

New Zealand Jasjam users, let's rejoice together!!!

For a while I thought us in Kiwiland will never get the benefit of any cool stuff at all... but this certainly put the myth to its coffin! YAY!

Thanks imate, that's a great news and looking forward to Ultimate series too!

I blogged this at my Geekzone blog (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/chiefie/3732).
