Majority of pocketpc users have certainly at least heard about Resco Explorer 2007. It is no secret that this program comes with numerous very handy add-ins. In this post we would like to point out Explorer’s ability to browse networks and provide you with several helpful tips.

In order to map a drive, your device must be somehow connected to the network. The best way is to connect it via WiFi, other possibility is to use ActiveSync.

Then tap Menu > File > Network > Map drive

A faster way is to simply tap on the icon located in the bottom right-hand corner and choose “Map drive”

After you have done so, a list of all computers that are connected to the network will appear. To map a computer, simply mark the computer and tap “share”. You can also map certain folder or computer drive only by specifying it in a path directory. Please note that the computer and its folders must be set as “shared”.

Now a new folder under the “My Network” folder in the device’s root will appear. You can work with this newly mapped folder similarly as with other, normal folders. Please note again that if you would like to change the content of that folder you need to set permission at the computer from which the folder is mapped.

To unmap the drive, tap Menu > File > Network > Map drive or once again use the icon located in the bottom right-hand corner and choose “Unmap drive”.

On this occasion, Resco decided to place a 20% discount on Resco Explorer 2007. The discount is valid until Monday, August 13, 2007.
