I'm dismayed that nothing showed up on the US region of the site and that the version numbers in the screenshot they include in their instructions (where they tell you to make sure their version is newer than your version before actually applying the ROM update) are older than my eight-month-old WM5 device!

What gives? Do they mean their WM6 version numbers need to be newer than my WM6 version numbers? That wouldn't make sense as this is the first WM6 ROM update published and no TyTN's have been sold with WM6 installed, have they? Hence, that question isn't even valid as I don't have WM6 version numbers, I have WM5 version numbers and they're newer than their WM6 version numbers!

The version numbers they have on their (very slow) site (as difficult as they are to read) are:
ROM: 1.06.405.1
ROM date: 05/10/07 (one presumes this is 10may07)
Radio: 02.90.90
Protocol: 4.1.13.42
ExtROM: 1.06.405.101

The version numbers I have are:
ROM: 1.18.255.3
ROM date: 07/22/06
Radio: 1.03.03.10
Protocol: 32.34.7010.01H
ExtROM: 1.18.255.106

Bottom line, does this matter? If not, is it even worth going through the hassle of applying the ROM update, I'm kinda conflicted as I'm expecting ActiveSync to break and then half my 3rd party software not to work any more. If so, will it even work if I try to apply a European update on my USA device?!?

Yes, I sound like a real Debbie Downer but I just want to stick it to 'em and put across how bad this looks. I'm hoping some members will throw some really good come-backs in here and turn me right around...

I have been trying to install the WM6 update on my Tytn and it just won't work. The Tytn goes into a kind of serial direct connect mode that makes my Vista PC ask for a USB driver. If I don't install a driver, the upgrader can't find the Tytn. I can't find a driver via the automatic search. I did find a couple of drivers on the internet that install OK and the Tytn then shift to USB connect mode, but then the installer program quits.
Anyone have any ideas?
