But that's not the end of the road. The company would like to know what features you hope to see in MemMaid 2.x and beyond. Post them here and they just might be implemented in upcoming versions of MemMaid.

First I would like to see a RAM Defragmenter / Cleaner which actually works. Not just a gimmick like the ' Reclaim RAM ' as on my current version 1.73

Then I would like to see a memory management tool which could enable the use of the Memory Card as a "Virtual RAM"

Kind Regards

Unfortunately, the smartphone support is not going to be in this version.
However, we'll start working on it right after the release of MemMaid 2.0 :)

Our "Reclaim RAM" is improved big time in this new version (for WM5 devices and above), we'd love to hear from you again once the new version is released.

For the Virtual RAM part, that sounds like a very interesting idea, it might not be feasible but we'll forward it to our development team for future releases.

I want to see the softkeys work. And less screen interaction as well.

As it is, when I run Quick Clean, I have to tap the screen to run the full version of MemMaid as (afaict) there's no hardware interaction implemented there other than the OK button closing it. And when I run the full version, I have softkey functionality until I use any of the on-screen functions, at which point I lose softkey functionality.

A way of accessing and deleteing databases including those that contain the PIM information. That would have been a major help 2 days ago when my database became corrupt and I had to hard reset to resolve the problem rather than delete all PIM info and reinstate it via active sync.

Version 2.1 please??

Actually ...

This is already in MemMaid 2.0 :)

*Full support for one-handed operation

*Ability to schedule cleanups (so that I can run cleanup before my auto backup).

*Love a way to "protect" individual cookies from deletion (ideally once I select a given cookie to be protected I do not have to do this again).

Hmm, we'll try to see if we can do something about the softkeys in the next few days (before the release).

Thanks for the thought.

We're trying to have softkey support before the final release which will help with the one handed operations.

The ability to protect individual cookies sounds also as a very nice idea (another one to be added to our list for future releases)

The scheduling, however, is there in MemMaid 2.0 :)

Softkeys for me too.
Great app... use it every day a couple of times since WM6 is a RAM hog.

It is generally known now that the Sprint PPC-6800 (Mogul) has a memory-leak problem. What I don't know is whether or not a specific application is causing it, or if it's a general problem. A lot of people are complaining about the anorexic ~20MB of RAM available after the native OS and utilities are loaded following a soft reset, so any memory leak at all is unacceptable. If Memmaid could do some testing using several common apps to find out what is causing the leak, I would love to purchase a version that resolves it.

I just bought this program a couple of days ago, any idea if it will cost me to upgradt to 2.0?

I do have some feedback on using the 1.x version of memmaid on a PPC6800.

Needs a backup option, especially when deleting services and dll's when experimenting. It would be nice to have a one touch backup in case something I deleted caused problems.

The reclaimRAM feature is great, good to hear it's been beefed up in 2.0. There needs to be an option in which you don't have to press OK after each reclaimRAM. Keep in mind that PPC6800 users are constantly pressing reclaimRAM due to the low RAM amount.

Also a scheduled reclaimRAM, or run reclaimRAM every 10 minutes option would be nice, with no confirmation, just do it silently in the background.

Another user had a great one, being able to reserve or protect selective cookies from being cleaned/deleted. The all or nothing approach does not work as some cookies are necessary, ie: passwords, usernames, forums, etc.

All in all it's a great program and Ihope having purchased it a couple days ago that 2.0 upgrade will not cost me too much, if anything. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

How about an obvious easy way to save temp web pages and history to the SC so it does not take up main memory. SKTools has it but it is not clear how to do it.

Also make Mem Maid work with a landscape screen orientation.

MemMaid has a feature to show you how much RAM is running process is using, we also added the ability to export this information to a file.
What you can do is export this list to a file right after you restart your device and export again after a while and compare the usage.

Not adding too much to this, but I like the ideas that have been mentioned:

- softkey support
- one-handed operation
- scheduled RAM reclaim in the background

I also like the addition of closing open programs when running the full MemMaid.

Last - what is the difference between Beta 3 and Beta 2? I cannot seem to figure out the differences.

Thanks!

The upgrade is going to be free for customers who bought in the last 2 months.

MemMaid doesn't have backup, but we added an export/import function for the registry and databases.

We'll look into your suggestion for the Reclaim RAM (can't promise if they are going to make or not though as we have a tight release date).

The current MemMaid has the ability to move the cache and supports landscape

We enhanced the ability to move the cache to an external card in the new version as well :)

in Beta 3 we introduced the new "look & Feel" dialog.
Check the Tools menu :)

Thanks to everyone contributed with ideas or thoughts in this thread.

Check out MemMaid 2.0 as it has been released and actually many of your ideas did make it in the release.

Please post your experience about MemMaid and if we have done what you asked for in this thread:
