The nice thing about this (apart from the cost - free!), is the ability to connect to a variety of services and not just a proprietary one. You can try out the beta here.

I'm a bit confused, yes for Symbian phones this is a decent solution, personally I did not like it for Skype due to privacy issues as you have to provide Fring (based out of Israel) with your Skype username/password.

But why would one need/want this for a Windows based phone when you can load Skype on to them for free.

Darn, looks like it doesn't work through the T-Mo proxy connection. :(

Are you sure? I did have in on my Nokia E70 over Tmo.

I tried it in my Blackjack and was not at all satisfied with the sound quality. Contacts I called could barely hear me and there was a lot of noise in the background. It also froze my device so I had to remove the battery in order to use it again. I removed it. At this stage I do not recommend it.

Over 3G or?
The Blackjack really doesn't have very fast processor..

Are you using the $5.99 T-Zones connection for data?

I'm getting the "Internet connection is not available" error screen when I start it up on my Dash.

No WAS using the "regular" unlimited data package by Tmobile.
Don't have the Nokia anymore.

Over 3G. I know the BJ has not a fast processor but they ask specifically for your phone model when registering. I was encouraged at the comment of working fine on the slower Edge. So with 3G the BJ slower processor would not be much of a problem (is it?).

Setting up was very very fast. It's the VOIP that seems not to work properly but I only tried Skype Out. Feedback from Fring's test call was good though.

Maybe it's too beta at this time. Just wish Skype could provide a Smartphone compatible version.

I used it when it first was coming out and I was able to use it over my then Nokia E70 but I just didn't find it very convinient and with a delay I did not like. I also didn't find it very userfriendly, and or course last but NOT least the privacy issue of having to give them your full Skype user and password info, I mean since you can now send money through Skype/PP etc, it really isn't something I would trust in the long run, not to mention EVERYTHING you communicate is going via THEIR server. Anyway I use Skype on a Windows devices now, other than that I like www.soonr.com better, even though more primitive in a sence, works better in my opinion, except for the chating is somewhat silly that you have to refresh.

There's just one small issue with Fring: North American cellular providers and the data rates they charge.

What?
All the data packages offered in North America I am aware of are unlimited (yes and some "unlimited" with an actual limit) outside North America you most often pay per kb want to try doing voip by the kb? ;)

I've got 10MB for $10. That's the best package that Rogers (www.rogers.com) offers. They have bigger packages but they cost considerably more per MB.

Canada is always different (for good and for bad :))
But I don't think it's fair to put all of NA under the charges that Rogers in Canada charge.

This seems somewhat similar to Orb. Would that be an accurate statement?

Or is it more like Termical Services Client?

Are you viewing the entire desktop when you remote in?

I never "completed" my ORB test as I'm not too hooked on my media files or any streaming stuff except some overseas streaming radio that I get nicely over EGPRS (and somewhat ok over GPRS).

So as to the SOONR I can access MY DOCUMENTS and the complete OUTLOOK folders and emails and also with the help of GOOGLE DESKTOP search and find very quickly just about anything on the computer. What I love most is that there is nothing to install on the phone! I think you can access any folder/file on the whole computer yes, obviously it doesn't have a graphical interface as say logmein, and that's just good as it improves performance. Not to mention it is 100% FREE! Nothing to download, and all you do is register!

Oh, I had no idea you can actually make "MSN-MSN Calls" now? When did this happen? But that's not part of the mobile agents, or is it?
