No, not really, but the company clearly put a lot of effort into a spoof video depicting such a phone -- a fold-out device with circular text display and variable number placement, depending on user preference. It also doubles as a boomerang. Microsoft showed the video during a keynote address by Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division, at the company's Mobile and Embedded Developer Conference this morning.</i>"<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/martin-20070503-ophone.jpg" /><br /><br />I love this quote from <a href ="http://blogs.msdn.com/jasonlan/archive/2007/05/02/medc-day-1-the-ofone-gets-announced.aspx" target="_blank">Jason Langridge's Weblog</a> "<i>This device had a circular screen and it was hilarious to listen to Mel Sampat explaining how developers now need to query the screen radius and circumference in their multiple screen resolution applications</i>" Ahhh, who says software engineering geeks don't have a sense of humor. I'd laugh too, if I understood what it mean. 8O Actually, I wonder if you could tie something like this into Xbox and answer the phone while using it as a weapon. How's that for call return?<br /><br /><b><u>UPDATE</u></b>: You've asked, here's the oFone video in all it's glory:<br /><br /><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WazA77xcf0A"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WazA77xcf0A" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

it must be great when you are so awash in cash that you can hire internal advertising firms to create spoof for internal communication. :?

I don't know that they hired anyone; probably a company-wide stress relief and a chance to poke fun at the competition. :mrgreen:

Is this your new "Duck Call"? :lol:

Truly diverse, "all-in-one" device:
1.Call a wife;
2.Call a horny duck;
3.Knock this duck dead on a fly; (does not apply to a wife)
4.If you miss that bird, the device will get back to you by itself!
And much, much more..... :devilboy:

Is there a link to the actual video???

I haven't seen one yet. There's a note on Langridge's blog he's trying to convince them to post it. I haven't been able to find a link.

Edit#1: oh, and this note:
totally hilarious, hope we can post the video on youtube soon.
from Loke Uei Tan (http://blogs.msdn.com/lokeuei/archive/2007/05/01/ofone-spoof-covered-on-seattle-pi.aspx). Maybe he'll post it on his YouTube site. Check out his hilarious MEDC 2007 Worst Practices (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZOL878CwfM#).

Edit #2: To see most all of the YouTube MEDC coverage, click here (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=search_videos&search_query=MEDC%20microsoft%20windows%20embedded&search_sort=relevance&search_category=0&page=1).
