Today we have some better pictures and few more details. Compared to A701, the only downside of A501 is that it lacks Wi-Fi. Everything else seems to be a plus for the new younger brother. The A501 will come with 1GB of storage space and 64MB of RAM and have support for quad band GSM networks. Also from the picture we can see that A501 is using the new mapping software V3 from Mio. We still have no info on pricing or availability"</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/Navigadget_mio-a501.jpg" /><br /><br />NaviGadget has pictures to go along with the <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=53896">specifications Ekkie posted</a> on last week. More shots are also available at the French site <a href="http://www.gpsandco.com/articles/newsitem.php?id=4812">GPSAndCo.com</a>.

I am usung Mio A701 as of right now.Generally, I am satisfied with it. Except for a lock of support from MiTac, and no desire from them to fix bugs until next ROM upgrade, wich, of course, replaces old bugs with new ones.
Cheers

Ouch! Thanks for the report. Lack of good support will be a big issue for some.

You must be picked up a bad device, as far as GPS capabilities it works very well, I would recomend you to take it back to a store an get it replaced.

Unless MiTac Mios have the perfect set of features that you are looking for, stay away from them. Like stated previously, their support is very bad. Their phones have bugs with Bluetooth headsets, with voice mail notifications and more. The support team doesn't care, and apparently incapable of fixing bugs, and what's worse, the phones aren't popular, so the community support is slow as well.
