It's worth noting that the clamshell QWERTY device has a swivel display and an oddly-placed OLED display on the exterior (yes, the words "horizontal alignment" mean squat to i-mate). <!>

I think it looks nice, and "horizontal allignment" is not really a problem for me, why would it have to be dead center?
It's just that after a year of using Universal, I just don't see much use for me in this device. Yes it could, in some cases replace a notebook, but like Athena the 7150 is too big to be a phone and I'm not sure it's worth $800 to have a nice always connected reader and multimedia device...
For that kind of money you can either find dedicated multimedia device or UMPC, and both devices are better for multimedia than WM.

Is it second generation JasJar, or answer HTC Advantage X7500? :?:

The external display, will it show caller ID?? Anyone with an answer

An awesome device. The recently released pictures of soon to come Nokia communicator E90 had started to appeal to me. But looking at the Ultimate 7150 I am firmly back to the Pocket PC camp.

Thanks and Regards

Is it just me, who has found 7150 uglier than Imate JasJar. Looks like, I might again buy JasJar(3rd time). I love JasJar looks more

I love this device, can I finally put away my jasjar after all? Because we all no there is not a more well rounded device thant the HTC Universal, or what ever you choose to call it.

MY ONLY QUESTION IS: What's the screen size?

* :) I'm guessing: 3.5"

* I'd hate to see another (yall know what's comming): 2.8"

* :devilboy: I'm hoping to see (Influenced by the new EM One): 4.1"

If anyone has this information, please let me know.

may be its just you.. to me its a work of art, very sleek very professional & very stylish.

Also technically its way more proportional & smaller than the Jasjar:

Jasjar's Volume: 127*81*25= 257,175
7150's Volume: 110*74*18= 146,520

7150's Volume %: 146520*100/257175= 56.97 %

Conclusion: the Ultimate 7150 is close to half the size of the Jasjar, although there was no compromises made in the specs, infact it has better specs ;)

And the secondary OLED display is 2.2". IMHO, both are big enough.

maybe already somebody asked , but will the display part rotate like Universal does? i mean can it be rotated 180 so it can bent over it's display?

Oh my heavens! I'm in love again!
If all is true that I've been reading in this post, then this will truly be the ultimate device.

Is there any word on the availability of this device? Dates people, we need dates! As far as pricing goes; I'd dish out $2,000 hapily. Being a Systems Administrator for a resort (24 hours of support needed) I can so realize the benefits of this, even though my HTC Universal does a pretty good job already, this device is supposedly more powerful, considerably smaller, and definitely more stylish. Wow! Dates people, we need dates!

i-mate has stated a mid-year release, so it's probably safe to assume June/July-ish.

Love everything about it, with one minor exception which was mentioned earlier. either the device should be smaller or the screen larger. The device is sleek, but just like any LCD TV or monitor or phone or whatever, we don't need huge wasted space around displays. On most new devices the screen takes nearly all the real estate and there isn't much wasted space. If that was the case on this phone I would be more excited. Bigger screen or smaller device. Still WAY cool.
