Hi all. I used to have an Xda Exec and been happily using it for the last 12 months till it just stopped working one night when I did a soft reset. It won't leave the O2 splash screen. Did soft and hard resets, to no avail. Had mostly Spb apps in there, and all saved on the card with the exception of Spb Pocket Plus, saved in the device.

Now that I just purchased an HTC TyTn (still waiting for delivery), it just made me think: which apps can be installed to the TyTn and whether to install in the device or the microSD card. Have you had any bad experiences on any of these? Please do share.

Additional apps to install are:
Spb pocket plus
Spb diary
Spb weather
Spb time
Spb imageer
Spb finance
Spb GPRS monitor
IliumSoft eWallet
Any and all opinions valued. Thanks guys!

the first 4 work fine, don't know about the others.
I recommend disabling the today plugins for them all except pplus and then accessing them from within pplus itself. This works very well and reduces today screen congestion significantly.

What today plugins do I disable? And would you recommend installing on the device itself, or on the microSD?

We don't know of any problems between eWallet and your device.

Where would you recommend installing eWallet, device or microSD?

anything running on the today screen is best installed on the device IMHO.

I have installed the same softs as on my iPAQ 4700 on my new TyTN and everything works without any problem (but with a smaller screen estate, of course :( ). This is a rather efficient and quick PDA.

But I have uninstalled everything from the main memory and installed them on the SD card. The reason for this is the very small free RAM I have on this device from start (during ActiveSync, it can really get worst). If you use Today plugins, it is in general effectively safer to install them in the main memory but I would not install too much plugins on this device... You can install PocketBreeze on the SD card, it installs its vital parts in the main memory anyway but your skins can sit on the Card.

Hope this helps...
Murat

Sorry for the slow reply! I missed your response.

You can install to either. eWallet will work as well in either location.

So far I've installed everything to the card except for the Spb Pocket Plus, which is on the device. It's been a few weeks now and have had no issues so far. Have not even had to soft reset, everything works like a charm!

Thanks for all your advice!
