The title says it all. It's a law in California now... No cell phones up to your ears or ELSE!

Does anyone know of a device like this. The problem is a handsfree bluetooth device that displays the incoming cellphone number. I don't know why the manufacturers haven't done this... I've seen one device by Siemens and that's it. I would ask for voice-dialing but I wouldn't hold my breath...

Can you use a BT headset and a dash mount for the cell phone?

It's only a matter of time 'till cars destined for sale in California will only be allowed one seat, because passengers are known to be distracting to drivers, and you will be charged a tax if you don't car pool.

BTW, Voice Command 1.6 does work over BT now, though not on all combinations it seems, and it will tell you who the incoming call is from, by name, if a contact, or the number if not. You can dial any contact without having to tag each one. It does voice recognition. (No it doesn't take dictation...darn)

Yes, I saw this... Only issue is that there is a cable leading from the device for power.. And it looks like it's somehow connected to the starter since it turns on when you start your car. Way too much work for this function...

Is California over-regulated? Sometimes I think... But cell phone usage is out of control here. Heck, I don't even like talking to someone while I drive cause it IS distracting.. A cellphone is many times worse.

For me, I'm glad about the new law.
