You'll have to get a new 2-year Cingular contract or renew an existing one, but if you do so the phone is yours for just $149 minus a $50 mail-in rebate.

Man, I am sorely tempted. I'm not sure whether I should go for this or stick with the 700w and wait for the next generation. Any of you thinking of jumping at the offer? [Affiliate]

I, too, am tempted. I had thought about waiting for the iPhone, but I do miss the Treo 700w I had before I quit Verizon - was the best phone I ever had, and was tolerable as a PDA (the 32MB was a hinderance, though).

I've read the Amazon link a few times and it keeps referring to new service, and not to renewal of existing service. Perhaps if I click into the ordering pages, it provides that option but I haven't seen on the offer description.

I'll continue to read up on it. Very, very tempting, as you say.

Update: after clicking further into the order processing, it does allow for renewal of contract as an option, provided of course that one meets eligibility (for example at least 22 months into existing 24 month contract). Still not ready to commit but thinking about seriously.

Wow, already HUGE discounts! The cheapest I found the unlocked 750V was about $690. Doh! I'd probably pay $400 - $500 for this... Hopefully sometime this quarter... Even without 3G on my T-Mobile network..

Well I paid $648 on eBay (including shipping and imei-check unlock) for mine about 2.5mths ago, so I got a GREAT deal, especially for back then when it was hot on eBay! :D
